District Election Officer Rajouri

“Greater   Participation  for  Stronger  Democracy”  is  not  merely  a  slogan but a  guiding  force  towards a  vibrant  democracy  in the  country  where  all  sections  of  society  irrespective  of  region,   religion,  caste, class and sections  participate  for  giving  themselves  a stronger  democratic  set  up and clean progressive  governments at Centre  as well  as state.  It   also reminds  us  of  the  freedom  struggle  which  ended up in offering  us  this freedom  to  vote  for  choosing   our  representatives,   law  makers  and Government  at local,  state  and national level.  The  participation    in elections  is  also reflective  of  the  trust  people have in their  governments  and the elected   representatives   so  to   make this   bond stronger   and  to   make system  more   accountable   a  greater participation   is  must.

Election  Commission   of  India has stated  a  unique  plan  of  Systematic  Voters’  Education  and Electoral Participation   (SVEEP) across   the  country  which  has already  started  showing  results as  the  efforts are translated into  greater   lot  of  educated   electors  and higher   turnouts  in elections.  Under  able   guidance   of  Sh  Umang Narula, IAS,   Chief  Electoral  Officer  J&K,  the  district  administration   started   all  out   efforts  under   SVEEP in December  2013 and as on date  more  than  70 venues  have hosted  the  programmes.
